Josh Forrest and I, along with a senior finance representative at Abercrombie & Fitch, will be presenting at Collaborate 2011.  It is the last presentation of the conference – Thursday at 12:15.  We are pretty proud of what we accomplished at ANF and encourage you to attend.  We may even raffle off a few gift cards at the end of the presentation, you never know.  If you don’t shop at Abercrombie, your kids do!

The Abstract

Abercrombie & Fitch has recently implemented Hyperion Planning to improve its budgeting and forecasting processes.  The benefits of this implementation will be discussed and will include how the system increases accountability, enables more frequent passes, and at a level never before possible.

The application uses nearly 100 web forms, 3 plan types, and gives the users the ability to perform tasks quickly and easily, with tools they have never been provided prior to the Planning implementation.

The Objectives

  • Discuss the challenges of the planning process prior to the Hyperion Planning implementation
  • Walk through the Abercrombie & Fitch Hyperion Planning implementation strategy
  • Highlight the benefits (both those that were expected and those that were not) of the Planning implementation

Target Audience

The target audience is Financial or Internal Control Management and is appropriate for all levels.  Although we will not be discussing the technical side of the implementation in detail, technical professionals will be interested in some of the more unique functions that were built, like custom spreading based on drivers like historical data and trends.
