Hyperion Interactive Reporting (OBIEE)

Contribution made by Nick Yezza

Overview

Hyperion Interactive Reporting offers powerful query, analysis and reporting capabilities supported by an intuitive user interface.  Both developers and end-users can take advantage of existing information systems to pull together data in easy to use charts, pivots tables and highly formatted reports. Relational data can be augmented with the output of Hyperion’s multidimensional reporting services for even broader reporting and presentation capabilities.

With the most recent release, Interactive Reporting extends these capabilities offering additional support for products such as SAP NetWeaver, IBM WebSphere and MS SQL Server Analysis Services.

Product History

Interactive Reporting was originally developed by Brio Software and distributed under several names including Brio Query, Explorer, Insight and finally Intelligence.  In Q4 2003, when Hyperion acquired Brio, the product became part of the Hyperion Performance Suite.  The product was distributed as Hyperion Intelligence until System 9, when the Interactive Reporting name was taken.

Interactive Reporting is currently part of Oracle’s BI Enterprise Edition Plus suite of products.
