Kyle Goodfriend has been working with Essbase since the late 90s, focusing on supporting financial reporting, planning, and forecasting. Kyle has a unique perspective on technology and how it is used. He earned a finance degree from one of the top 50 business schools in the country. As a financial manager and accountant, he used technology to automate his functions. He quickly discovered that it was more fun finding ways to automate his functions than doing them. After teaching himself a development language during his first job, he saved the company over 10 million dollars in credit card chargebacks by improving the process of researching retail transactions in question. That was the beginning of his technology focus that drives him today.
Kyle has worked with many Hyperion products since he was originally exposed to Essbase. He has designed or managed hundreds of forcasting, planning, and reporting environments. He has worked directly with, or supported, just about every conceivable industry in and outside of the U.S. Kyle also has a background with SQL Server, Visual Basic, .NET Java, and many other tools that enable him to be extremely efficient when designing and building solutions.
With more than a decade in the technology field and a strong background in accounting and financial management, he has the unique ability to communicate effectively with both CEOs and junior technologists. He is strong in system design and implementation, evaluating existing models, and improving existing environments both from a system and budget prospective.
